Elders’ Teachings

My grandparents Nancy and Ned Moiese raised me from birth in T’exel’c.

They blessed me with very strong teachings, morals, and ethics. The teachings that help me remain connected are to “never forget who I am and where I come from.” They guided me to go forward and get an education and strive to work hard.

Secwepemculecw is broken down as follows:
[Secwep] – unfolding, spreading out, and coming home;
[emc] – people of;
[ulecw] – the land of, place of, territory.
