My role as a teacher is to facilitate learning. I provide opportunities for students to act and reflect on their ideas and theories through oral and written expression in terms of how they influence their lives, communities, and worldviews.
Through my Indigenous lens, I encourage and exemplify Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
I strive to augment Indigenous Knowledge discourse for the advancement of Indigenous educational theory and praxis. I influence educational and societal change through my effectiveness as an Indigenous scholar and educator.
I am currently a Professor and Department Chair at Vancouver Island University. I teach indigenous Studies courses and I also deliver guest lectures and workshops to the community.
